TNFF 2015 Honourarium and Award Felicitation Ceremony in Kathmandu


Kathmandu, Nepal – An honorarium and award felicitation ceremony will be held in Kathmandu on Wednesday July 15, 2015 at 4 pm for the 6th Annual Toronto Nepali Film Festival (TNFF) that took place in Toronto, Ontario on March 28, 2015. The award ceremony will take place at the Village Theatre, Tej Bhawan, Uttar Dhoka Marg. The ceremony is open to all and it is a free event.


SUNAKALI, a documentary about a women's soccer team from Mugu in Western Nepal and its journey to the national championship, winner of the Audience Choice Award will receive a purse of CAD$ 1000 (Nepali Rupees 81,420). In addition, SUNAKALI will receive CAD$ 150 (NRs 12,215) as honorarium for being part of the festival. Similarly all participating films will also receive honorarium in the following amount: PAWAN - $100 (NRs 8,145), WHO WILL BE A GURKHA - $200 (NRs 16,285), SAVITRI - $100 (NRs 8,145), RED MONSOON - $200 (NRs 16,285), THE CONTAGIOUS APPARITIONS DAMBAREY DENDRITE - $100 (NRs 8,145) and KYAR KYAR PANKHA - $100 (NRs 8,145).


Over 500 audience members from the Greater Toronto area attended 6th TNFF. The Annual Toronto Nepali Film Festival has been taking place in Toronto since 2010. It was established with a goal of supporting and promoting Nepali filmmaking. TNFF collaborates with other film festivals and organizations such as Hot Docs, imagineNATIVE and Reel Asian to bring narratives of the land of Nepal and its people to Toronto.
